After so many record stores in NYC closed down like Tower Records, Virgin and Fat Beats NY, Other Music helped fill that void. It was a great little shop. Catered more to Indie Rock but they had a decent amount of Indie Hip Hop in there. And they would hold records for you too. RIP

Back in the 70’s my 4th grade school teacher talked about how she went there and it sounded amazing to me. I went home from school and asked my dad if we could go there. He laughed and told me to save my money so I could go there and visit one day. I finally made it to Paris and went to the Shakespeare and Company Bookstore in 2023. It was magical. 👍😀💜

I took his book to an event to show some friends, it's the only book that I've ever seen people react so strongly to... good art that is comedic and genuinely makes you belly laugh is very rare . They were passing it around, laughing, flicking to random pages to tell joke fortunes, showing eachother how they related. The simplicity of the art and statements is what makes it universal
